Oregon CAFR Pilot Project
The Oregon State Controller’s office undertook a pilot project which explored the steps necessary to build a taxonomy for government accounting standards used by state and local governments for financial reporting and then express the state’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, or CAFR, using XBRL.
There are approximately 88,000 state and local governmental entities which create and submit CAFR reports annually.
